This guide does something duller and more useful: it checks what each vendor actually publishes, and separates what is genuinely free from "free" used to mean a trial, a commission, or a quote request. The things it does not charge separately for are the ones that tend to be add-ons elsewhere: QR ordering, the kitchen display, inventory, staff roles and GST invoicing are in the one price, and there is no commission on orders. It runs in a browser on hardware you already own, so there is no terminal to buy. Phone support runs every weekday, on the trial as well as on a paid plan.

What to check before running a restaurant on a free POS
Free-forever POS apps do exist, mostly simple billing apps and products built for a global market. They stay free by capping something, and the cap that bites in India is usually report history, because GST filing is not a once-a-year exercise: GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B are monthly for most restaurants, and GSTR-9 is annual. Your accountant will routinely ask for figures from a quarter or a year ago.
A plan that only shows recent sales, or switches off report export, leaves that data out of reach unless you upgrade. You can work around it by recording monthly totals somewhere else, which is precisely the spreadsheet the POS was meant to replace. The second India-specific gap is the invoice itself. A compliant restaurant tax invoice needs your GSTIN, the SAC code for restaurant service, and CGST and SGST shown as separate lines rather than one merged GST figure. - Check you can pull a full financial year of sales without paying to unlock history.

That matters for a guide like this one: the rupee figures circulating for these vendors come from aggregator listings and rival vendors' blogs, not from the companies. They are frequently years out of date, and we have deliberately not reproduced them here.
